The Harvest Moon was a beauty for New Englanders, and managed to come on a summer night clear enough for viewing in many locales. The Harvest Moon got its name thanks to its historical significance - that is, before electricity was harnessed to light the evening landscape, farmers relied on moonlight to help them harvest the fall crops into the overnight. This picture was snapped by Cassandra, Gabrielle and Jeremy Neary-Orne from the Susan B. Anthony Middle School in Revere, MA - way to go kids, and thanks for sharing this with the rest of us New Englanders!

I was on Route 9 in Framingham and it was my two year old son that pointed out the moon to me. It was low on the horizon and orange looking. I loved it!

I was at Fenway Park on Wednesday evening for the Red Sox game. The full moon was beautiful!
