In today's discussion (below) I mentioned that I'd tugged the higher amounts southward in New Hampshire and Western MA. One thing I didn't adjust southward, however, was the snow before rain change, and that needed to be done. This burst of heavy snow from Springfield to Worcester to Boston is an initial burst that will give way to a change to rain, but has been causing accidents in Central and Western Massachusetts. Conditions are milder in Eastern MA and this means more wet roads than white, but conditions will be slow to improve in Central and Western areas, where temperatures hovering near 32 will mean some freezing rain until warmer air is forced in on a southeast wind. -Matt
