A BEHIND THE SCENES, ALL-INCLUSIVE LOOK AT BRETTON WOODS!

I recently had the opportunity to head up to Bretton Woods and interviewed Keith Huntoon, Director of Snowmaking Operations, and Chris Ellms, the General Manager.  For anyone who's wondered about what REALLY goes on behind the scenes, this is for you!  Check out the interviews on my Winter Sports and Recreation Page!

SITE UPDATE: "SKY SCENES" - THE SEGMENT FOR VIEWER SUBMITTED PHOTOGRAPHS FROM ACROSS NEW ENGLAND - NOW HAS AN ARCHIVE, ONLINE SUBMISSIONS AND PHOTO SHARING!

For the past couple of years, I've enjoyed bringing Sky Scenes to our morning shows on Good Morning Live at 6:51 AM, and on New England Midday at 9:51, 10:51 and 11:51 AM on NECN.  With the launch of the new NECN website, you can still find video of the current day's Sky Scenes on the NECN Weather Page.

But starting now, I've created an online group for our Sky Scene photos - a way to BOTH SUBMIT AND ARCHIVE YOUR PHOTOS online!  This is fantastic for a few reasons:

• We receive dozens of photos per week, but due to time constraints, I rarely can show more than 30 in a week.  This enables ALL photos to be shown and shared on the site.
• No more attaching photos to an email to send them!  Though you still can email your photos to the Sky Scenes email if you prefer, the online submission will be more direct and easier.
• An online photo archive can now be developed!  I'd started posting all pictures on my website for awhile, but as the segment grew, it grew out of control and I couldn't possibly keep up with every picture.  With the new method, I can post and archive pictures on my site with the click of a button!

SITE UPDATE: NEW WINTER SPORTS AND RECREATION PAGE HERE AT MATTNOYES.NET - LOTS OF UPDATES FOR SKIERS!

I'm excited to share with you my newest page on my website - the Winter Sports and Recreation page!  Many of you who utilize my site daily are avid skiers, snowmobilers and winter sports enthusiasts, and you deserve this page!  It can be accessed under the list of Mattnoyes.net pages in the left sidebar.

It's important to note that you WON'T find this to be the most beautifully or elegantly designed page, given that most of my time goes into forecasting and public appearances.  I do think you'll really enjoy the page, however, because it's all of the latest information we receive as meteorologists.  If I hear from a resort, you'll see it on the page.  If they send me photos, I'll post at least a portion of them so you can see what's going on at resorts across New England.

You will surely have suggestions for links, sites you suggest, etc., for this new site, and you should certainly let me know about those suggestions - I will do my best to add them as expeditiously as I can.

TOOK LONG ENOUGH, EH? BUT NOW YOU CAN FIND ME ON MYSPACE.COM!

It only took a few YEARS, but for those of you who are interested I've decided to surf the MySpace wave!  What was the inspiration for getting a page set up?  The biggest motivator was those of you who have stopped me on the street and let me know you're a friend of mine on MySpace - but I had no site!  Folks actually signed on as friends of a page that was made as a joke, by someone I don't even know, but I have to say - he did a good job of making it entertaining and took some really good guesses on the info!  If you haven't stumbled across it before, and unless you really know me, it's VERY tough to know that's not really me!

Feel free to seek out that page if you want a good laugh, but in the meantime, click here to head over to my new MySpace page for those who are interested.  A new link has also been included at the bottom of the Mattnoyes.net Pages section of the sidebar on the left side of this page.  Keep in mind that I'm a newbie, so the page isn't very extensive yet...it'll grow with time!  See you on MySpace!

I'm a lucky man to meet as many wonderful people across New England as I do - kids and adults who I meet at events ranging from school visits to adult gatherings to charity events, to everyday encounters on the street and in the stores.  I appreciate each and every person I run into, and though I couldn't possibly include everyone, I'm excited to begin including as many of the folks I meet through my appearances as I possibly can.  I've created a new page to share these wonderful experiences and wonderful people with my website users and viewers, and you can find it by clicking on the "Out and About In Our Community" link under the section "Other Mattnoyes.net Pages" on the left side of the homepage, or jump to it by clicking here!  Enjoy the pictures and video, and a very sincere thanks to all of you - featured in the pictures or not - for always being so warm and friendly, and making so many of my encounters memorable and enjoyable!  -Matt
