gaahhhh !!! this evening was one of those moments i kicked my behind for not carrying my camera in my car. as i was stuck at the traffic light of main and so. union, the sun popped out from behind a cloud and illuminated all of uvm's main academic buildings on her quad. it was stunning: the buildings all illuminated with the dark clouds as a back drop. as fast as i could, i raced back to my place to grab the canon knowing i more than likely was going to lose it. and yes ... of course -- even with record time behind the wheel -- i came back and it was gone. for all my 10 minute efforts to capture that amazing moment, i decided to at least post something. the sun was illuminating the clouds over davis. this is a nice example of where an slr is like a point and shoot and you cannot really capture all the beauty without editing in a program. this time of the day is nearly impossible to take one shot and it come out stunning because of the contrast. i do not have any hdr software. hdr could have really helped this photo.
