Remnant snow visible on Mount Washington on 07-Jun-09. According to Google Earth my viewpoint in Parsonsfield, Maine is 40.62 miles SSW from the summit.
if there's one thing i love about my hometown, it's how peaceful it is to shoot night photography here as the citizens are more in the 65 plus cohort and are prob. sleeping now. this spot marks one of the first places i tried to shoot a night image. it is my hometown's downtown as viewed from a dock out on the river. last year, when i began to learn ideal time's to shoot photography, i got lost looking for shots/ shoot subjects whenever conditions were ideal at night around here.
another thing i love about my hometown is the network i created when i was in high school -- and i didn't even attend the local high school in my hometown. since i've arrived back home, my self employed work has been steady and lucrative. today i was rained out and i suspect the same tomorrow. tomorrow morning, my subcontractor is meeting with me to give his price to do an aspect of a large job. if i get this one, this marks the first "gravy job" of the summer '09 season while i still have other work lined up. i'm nearly at the cost of the canon 5d mark ii and suspect that next week i'll be putting in my order to b & h for my new, full frame camera!

(there ... are you happy? i've posted one positive comment about my hometown)
the roof of the tallest downtown building in my hometown refects on an east side puddle. augusta, maine -- unlike many communities -- occupies both the eastern and western sides of the kennebec river -- maine's second longest river.
