Alongside a pond in the Townsend State Forest I found this scene last Saturday during a snowstorm. A gust of wind had just come by and knocked off some snow from the surrounding branches, giving the woods a foggy, mysterious feeling.

I was drawn to this large evergreen at the Townsend State Forest last Saturday. I seemed so strong and tall. This was during a snowstorm and this tree was like an umbrella to the storm.

It was still snowing and blowing on Saturday, 1/2/10, but the sun tried hard to burn through. This was the best attempt I saw.

At a local stop for dog walkers and hikers is this spot in the Townsend State Forest. I took this photo on Saturday 1/2/10, during a snowstorm. A beautiful winter wonderland!
