I had some fun with the temperature contours today on the new, high-resolution system. Great tool for showing the pockets of cold we so often get here in New England, which were really important early this morning. Heavy rain will undoubtedly result in flooding Monday afternoon, especially when combined with snowmelt. Most of this flooding will be of street and stream variety, though some river ice jams are possible in Central/Northern New England. Also of concern is the potential for southerly wind gusts exceeding 60 mph. These have already been observed in the Mid-Atlantic, and will do damage in some spots of Southern New England Monday afternoon. Keep an eye to the radar - heaviest wind will accompany heaviest rain today - new, big, live, interactive radar is just below the video window at the top of this New England Weather Page, and IS viewable nicely on iPhone and mobile web browsers!!
