Monday storm impact on Southern New England to depend upon size and strength
8 to 14 Day Forecast: April 2-8 likely brings continued cooler than normal conditions to the Northeast

Meteor streaks across the sky of New England and the Mid-Atlantic

For more, I invite you to follow me on Twitter, my weather Facebook page, my non-weather Facebook Page, and, of course, check in at my Weather Analysis Page and NECN Weather Team Blog for new posts.

Here was the full Friday night explantion I offered on NECN at 9pm, of the green streak across the sky.  I also conducted a phone interview with Ronald Dantowitz, Director of the Clay Observatory at the Dexter-Southfield School, who confirmed this was likely a small rock that is part of an asteriod belt.  Over the coming days, as reports are compiled by various international groups, all of those reports will be triangulated and a determination likely can be made as to what belt the meteor originated from.

  • You can report that you saw the fireball, and where you saw it to help with triangulation, by clicking here.
  • For the first credible video of the meteor, shared on my Facebook page, click here.

Hey! I realize this is somewhat off-topic but I had to ask. Does managing a well-established website like yours require a large amount of work? I'm brand new to running a blog but I do write in my diary on a daily basis. I'd like to start a blog so I can easily share my personal experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!
