It may have been pouring outside, but inside there were plenty of warm and sunny smiles from the fourth grade at the Freeman-Centennial School! These kids were a great group who were eager to laugh and learn about the weather, all at the same time! They had a banner waiting for me when I arrived that they all signed, posters illustrating the weather, and gave me a fantastic t-shirt and mug at the end of our time together. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon!

APRIL 28, 2008 - ST. LEO SCHOOL, LEOMINSTER, MA
It was my first time making a school visit to the Pioneer Plastics City of Leominster, MA - proud home not only to Johnny Appleseed, but also to a group of fantastic students at St. Leo School! Not wanting to leave anyone out of the invitation from the Keating family to visit St. Leo, everyone in first through eighth grade was on-hand to explore a variety of topics from the science side to the broadcast side of television meteorology! Thanks to everyone at St. Leo for your wonderful hospitality, and the great St. Leo folding chair you gave me - I'll proudly use it for my next relaxing weekend!

APRIL 17, 2008 - ST. JOSEPH ELEMENTARY, NEEDHAM, MA
The fourth grade and I met in the gym and I was instantly at ease, feeling like I fit right in...all the other guys in the room were wearing shirts and ties like me! Everyone was very attentive, and offered some fantastic questions about the weather. Thanks for such a fun afternoon!

The students in the fourth grade were ready to go, and full of enthusiasm to learn about weather. Of course, how could they not be with a teacher who uses "pogonip" in his sentences! The rainforest under creation in the classroom was impressive, and a great time was had by all!

APRIL 8, 2008 - BURRELL ELEMENTARY, FOXBOROUGH, MA
It was an auditorium affair for this group of second graders...who came with some fantastic questions, and many of whom got their first in-depth look at the water cycle. You were great students, and you looked awfully spiffy in your Red Sox attire for the home opener day...which the Red Sox thankfully won!
APRIL 3, 2008 - STRATTON SCHOOL, ARLINGTON, MA
This group of fifth graders spoiled me rotten with a Stratton School shirt, a sack, and my very own copy of "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," signed by every one of the students in the group. This was a weather savvy group, with a teacher who's seen a tornado live and in person! AWESOME!
APRIL 1, 2008 - E.E. LITTLE SCHOOL, NORTH READING, MA
It's become an annual tradition to head over to the Little School in Reading and see the first grade, and this year was no exception. I suppose we have a special connection considering their mascot is a Black Lab, and I have a wonderful Black Lab, too...though he couldn't make it for the visit this year! Thanks for having me out, kids!
