October 2, 2009 - The Giant Pumpkin Harvest!

This summer, tens of thousands of you took a trip with me to the top of Mount Washington - experiencing the top of New England! In another classic New England experience, this time we go harvesting giant pumpkins for the world-famous Topsfield Fair! After conducting live interviews during the morning for NECN (you can view them here), including with giant pumpkin grower Woody Lancaster, I had the privilege of being on-hand for the harvest, leading up to the international Giant Pumpkin weighing slated for Saturday, October 3, 2009, in Topsfield, MA. Unless you've harvested a giant pumpkin yourself, you've NEVER seen the process up close and personal like this - the camaraderie, the competition and the dedication it takes to nurture something that can grow as much as 40 pounds in one day!
