There was tough talk from my teammate, Nelly Carreno, about our face-off in the News IQ Quiz! In the end, we did what we always do together in the NECN Weather Center - laughed a lot, helped each other out and had a great time.
After meeting with many of the 7th grade, I made sure to stop into the cafeteria for lunch to get the whole grade in my video to show on TV and post here on the web - check out their video here, and look for these students to be TV superstars on NECN Monday afternoon between 4 and 5 PM.
The students at Bradford Elementary School showed me a great time in my hometown of Haverhill, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's teachers, Moms and Dads when I serve as Master of Ceremonies/Auctioneer for your big fundraiser later this month!!
For the first time, I'll be running the Boston Marathon this year! I'm running with the American Liver Foundation, and my motivation is to raise money to help children affected by liver disease and liver cancer. Each member of our team has a different motivation, but the goal of all is the same - to help an amazing organization reach out and assist patients in need of help. YOU can help, too! Click over to my Marathon Training Page to find out much more on how you can help. In the meantime, enjoy the sights and sounds of the Love Your Liver training run my team took over 17 miles of the Boston Marathon course this past weekend...and ended with one of our teammates engaged, following a post-run proposal - CONGRATS!
For the seventh year in a row, NECN teamed with the American Red Cross to boost New England's blood supply. With so many storms in the Northeast, the supply is terribly low this year - but these storms have torn across most of the country, meaning the national supply is low too...as of the end of the blood drive, some 28,000 units below goal. The only fix is for donors to step forward.
