Daily Forecast: Backdoor Cold Front Tuesday, Chance of Showers Follows

A "backdoor cold front" is a push of colder air that comes in from the opposite direction as most of our cold fronts usually do - entering from the east and northeast. Tuesday's backdoor cold front sets up cooler air for the rest of the week, with an increased chance of much needed rain at times this week, as well. Today (Tuesday): Fair sky to building clouds as cooler air drops temperatures from 80° early to the 60s late. West-southwest wind becomes northeast at 8-18 mph with higher gusts.
Overnight Tuesday Night: A few showers. Lows around 50. East wind 5-15 mph.
Wednesday: Cloudy, with a period of showers, particularly during the afternoon and evening. Highs in the 60s, 50s coast. East to southeast wind 5-15 mph.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Highs around 70, 60s coast, 80 west. East-southeast wind 2-10 mph.
