Daily Forecast: Coming Off a Varied Storm Impact, Spring Thaw Lay Ahead

It was an epic and historic storm for some...and a dud for others.  Mark this one as yet another storm in this mild winter that drives home the point: more work needs to be done to further advancement in understanding the impact of near-surface temperatures on snow accumulation.  Nonetheless, the road ahead brings a spring thaw after one more wintry feeling day Wednesday. Today (Wednesday):  AM snow showers taper. More clouds than sun, chilly wind. Highs around 40°, wind chill 30°. Northwest wind 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

Overnight Wednesday Night:  Clearing. Lows around freezing. Northwest wind 8-18 mph.

Thursday:  AM sun, PM clouds, evening sprinkle. Highs near 50°. Northwest wind 5-15 mph becomes west-southwest and lighter late.

Friday:  Cloudy, chance of a shower late, showers at night. Highs around 50°, 40s north. Southeast wind 4-12 mph.
