Daily Forecast Video: Explosive Fire Growth Conditions in New England

The combination of dry conditions, dry air and a busy wind have created explosive fire growth conditions in New England Tuesday. A cold front will change the air dramatically by Wednesday, though with little rain expected, high fire danger and pollen count will continue. Today (Tuesday): Sun, clouds & very high brush fire danger. Smoky skies at times from Canadian wildfires. Highs in the lower 80s. West wind increases to 10-20 mph and becomes southwest late with gusts to 35 mph - 40 mph on Cape Cod.
Overnight Tonight: Passing showers. Lows in the 40s north, 50s south. Southwest wind becomes northwest at 8-18 mph.
Wednesday: An early shower southeast, then sun & clouds, slight chance sprinkle. Cool breeze, highs near 60. North-northwest wind 10-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
Thursday: Fair and pleasant. Highs in the 60s. Northwest wind becomes southwest at 5-15 mph.
