Daily Forecast Video: Winter chill hangs on until new wind can take hold

Cold air really can't get out of New England until a milder, southerly wind can take hold - which won't happen in earnest until Saturday.  Meanwhile, I'm watching a shot of potentially damaging wind gusts Sunday night into Monday morning with a shot of rain...and heavy mountain snow behind it.  Full details in the forecast video and remember, in addition to the NBC10 Boston and NECN station apps, to download my personal Matt Noyes Weather app to communicate directly with me!

Today (Thursday):  Cold with variable clouds. Highs in the 30s. West-northwest wind 2-10 mph.

Overnight Tonight:  Partly cloudy. Lows in the 20s, 10s north. Northwest wind 0-8 mph.

Friday:  Fair sky, quiet air. Highs 40-45. Nearly calm wind at times.

Saturday:  Milder with clouds & limited sun. Highs around 50. South-southeast 2-12 mph.
